Travel Vaccination Charges

The following vaccines are available and are covered by the NHS; no charge is applicable:

  • Polio/diphtheria/tetanus
  • Hepatitis A
  • Typhoid

The following vaccines are not covered by the NHS and are chargeable at the assigned rate.

Please note: Rabies, Japanese Enchepalitis, Tickbourne Encephalitis and Cholera all need 10 weeks notice, as the vaccine will need to be ordered.

Rabies £60 per dose, 3 doses required
Japanese Encephalitis £95 per dose, 2 doses required
Hepatitis B £90 per course of 3 injections plus blood test
Yellow Fever (registered patient) £50 includes certificate
Yellow Fever (non-registered patient) £60 includes certificate
Meningitis ACWY £35 per dose
Tickbourne Encephalitis £70 per dose, 2-3 doses required
Oral Cholera £50  per course of 2 doses
Replacement copy of Yellow Fever certificate £20

Prices are inclusive of VAT at 20%.

Malaria treatment can be bought over the counter or via private prescription.

The following can be bought from a pharmacy:

  •  Chloroquine (start one week prior to travel)
  • Proguanil (start one week prior to travel)
  • Chloroquine and Proguanil (start one week prior to travel)

The following malaria medication requires a private prescription from your GP. A charge for this will be applicable and you will be required to pay for the medication:

  • Mefloquine (start 2-3 weeks prior to travel)
  • Malarone (start 1-2 days prior to travel)
  • Doxycycline (start 1-2 days prior to travel)
